The Addams Family, peels the macabre characters of illustrator Charles Addams off the pages of The New Yorker and gives them a fresh take and new songs. The Addams Family features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare.
That lovable family of creepy kooks is alive and well and living in their super-spooky mansion in Central Park. The Addams family, led by the elegantly gaunt, beautiful, and seemingly undead Morticia, and her ever-devoted husband, the attractive and immensely proud, Gomez, is in turmoil. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. One fateful night, when the teen invites her new boyfriend, Lucas Beineke, over with his “normal” family to get better acquainted with the Addams household, everything will change.
Complete with chaos, torture, mixed up potions, tangos, undead ancestors, deep and dark confessions, and a terrible storm, the newly constructed musical comedy about a ghoulish clan of endearing misfits that lives by its own standard also includes the iconic characters of torture-friendly pre-teen and charmingly funny Pugsley, the fun and quirky, witch-like Grandma, Frankenstein-like butler Lurch, and the lovable zombie-esque, vaudevillian Uncle Fester.
